I always liked the idea of big graphic wall decals and had played with the idea of using them in my house, but as it ended up , the only ones we ever bought were Winnie the Pooh for my daughter’s nursery. Not exactly cutting edge design. When I saw that my local dollar store was starting to carry “Hip” wall decals, I figured that trend was pretty much over.
I was so wrong. Companies like Blik, Walltat, and Fathead have broken away from the Parisian skyline, flowers down the wall style of decal (although there is still a nice selection of those types if you are interested) and are working with established and up-and-coming artists to create wall art that is fresh, innovative and not at all cookie cutter.

Those are really unusual and inventive. Wall decals have certainly evolved from that customary one-color cut-out. I had to do a double take on some of them. Neat!
ReplyDeleteWow, you found some amazing ones.
ReplyDeleteFabulous!
ReplyDeleteThese are all very creative and cool finds, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteWow. These are great. For some reason, I thought fathead only did lifesize athlete wall decals!

ReplyDeletevery cool way to put up art and images on your wall.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the visit.
Flippin' LOVE the Airstream!
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by my blog, this post is great I especially love the claw foot tub! Enjoy Spring!
ReplyDeleteA couple of these are not my style but that is what makes them great! They are definitely out-of-the-box design wise from other decals and would spice up any space.
ReplyDeleteA few of those are a little dark/creepy, but I love the idea of putting something different on the wall...if I ever move somewhere the walls are not cinderblock, I am totally going with something from one of these places, or a shop on etsy. I'm not a country style decorator in general, but this chicken makes me smile: http://www.etsy.com/listing/58214188/chicken-vinyl-wall-decal?ref=sr_list_1&ga_search_query=chicken+wall+decal&ga_search_type=handmade&ga_facet=handmade
ReplyDeleteSo my post helped you with your spoons!
Nice! I have a world map decal on my livingroom wall that I purchased on etsy. I LOVE it!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad you are all enjoying the decals. I thought they were pretty cool myself.
ReplyDelete@harmless - totally. I was pretty much just using my spoons as display, but now I am going to oil them up and put them to use.
these are so cool!

Is it really easy and safe (to the wall) to peel them off?
ReplyDeleteWe live in a rental house and cannot hang anything on the walls which makes our place a very minimalist one...
I need one of these... Loving especially the stunning second one.
@Galit - It depends. They won't damage the wall, but some are easier to remove then others. Be sure to look for ones that state they restickable. Those are your best bet. I love that one too.
